EVENTS OF PEGEIA MUNICIPALITY

Pegeia municipality catering for the leisure and spiritual advancement of its citizens, is organizing several events.

Carnival – Green Monday

The residents of Pegeia and not only, have the opportunity to experience the carnival. Fun and celebration featuring both the Carnival parade and the children's carnival dance organized every year by the Municipality of Pegeia. The parade held in Coral Bay Avenue and dancing usually takes place in a hotel in the area.

On Green Monday, the residents of Pegeia congregate primarily in the St. George area. In the area of the homonymous small church is organized an artistic event which includes traditional dances and songs, competitions, traditional games etc.

The Easter events of Pegeia Municipality include among others the organization of Easter traditional games in the parking area of the Municipality, sports, football, etc.

Annual Arts Festival

The annual arts festival held usually in August and hosts featured artists. The purpose of the event is the fun and entertainment of the citizens.

Awards Ceremony for the Top Students of our municipality and for those who entered in Higher, Highest and Educational Institutions or Universities of Cyprus and Greece.

The Municipality of Pegeia is next to the students and rewards their successes and achievements so as to set the standard for all citizens. The education is palladium and that’s why the municipality tries to promote and recognize every effort for spiritual advancement.

Christmas Events

As part of Christmas celebrations, Pegeia Municipality organizes events involving various choirs, band, children's inspections and the most important ... Santa Claus distributes gifts to children!

Event for the Centenary of Vrisi ton Pegeiotisson

On June 24, 2007, Pegeia Municipality organized an event to celebrate the Centenary of the Vrisi ton Pegeiotisson. The event was organized in cooperation with the occupied Municipality of Lapithos as the historic fountain was built by Achilleas Constantineou who was from Lapithos. Greetings were spoken by the Mayor of Pegeia Mr. Neophytos  Akoursiotis and the Mayor of Lapithos, Mr. Athos Eleftheriou while the event was held under the auspices of the Minister of Interior Mr. Neoklis Silikiotis. A rich artistic program followed.
